Baluran National Park

Covering 25,000 hectares of land area and 3750 hectares of territorial waters lies in Situbondo. The park is easily approached. From the Situbondo-Banyuwangi road it is only about 15 km. inside the park, there are the Information Office, a camping ground, a viewing post, lodges, and guides. The park is inhabited by 28 species of mammals, 115 bird species (Aves), various species of fish (Pisces), and reptiles. A total of 47 animal species are protected. The flora comprises 444 species, 24 exotic species and 24 species of mangrove. A variety of ecosystems include coral reefs, coastal reefs, mangrove forest, and tidal forest which is the boundary between two different ecosystems, savanna and coastal forest. As an eco-tourist destination, Baluran offers attractions that can be seen such as various type of coral reefs, ornamental fish and venomous fish and other marine lives that live the waters of Baluran National Park. The existing terrestrial wildlife habitat is for wild buffalo, banteng, deer, a small antelope, ajag, about 155 species of birds such as peacocks and primate groups. No less than 144 species of flora growing in the park include Pilang, Kepuh, Widorobukol, gebang, kesambi, manting, and ketapang. The national park plays roles including: as a nature conservation area which has a native ecosystem managed by the zoning system, for the purpose of preservation of germ plasm, cultivation support, for education and interpretation, natural recreation and research.

White Sandy Beach

Is a white sand beach having a unique blend of recreation forest and marine tourist. The beach is located 21 km to the town of Situbondo on a Surabaya-Bali road. It is easily accessed by either public transport or tourist buses on the way from the return route East Java-Bali. Recreation activities that can be done: swimming at the beach, boating to witness coral reefs in the middle of the sea, canoeing, diving while enjoy the underwater beauty, fishing, and windsurfing. When the weather is clear, both the sunrise and the sunset are amazing. Along the white sand beach are a great many lodfing facilities and restaurants with various menus.
