Grahadi Mansion

The building was founded in 1795 by Dirk van Hogendorf, the Dutch authorities at that time. The building at the beginning of its establishment faced the north (facing Kalimas river), but in 1802 it was changed to face the south like the current situation. During the administration of the Dutch East Indies this building used to be Raad van Justitie (Hight Court), and it was also used for parties and receptions. Then from the period of Governor Samadikoen (1949-1957) until now, the mansion which is named “Gedung Grahadi” state building is used for receiving official guests of the Governor of East Java, for a state reception, a ceremony of independence of other state ceremonies.
