Mount Kelud

Mount Kelud (1.731 m asl) is located in Sugih Waras village, Ngancar subdistrict about 40 km to the east of the Gumuk Simpang Lima monument. The average temperature is about 20° C. A great natural phenomenon happened with the emergence of a new lava dome from the creater. The new dome is about 250 m high, with a 420 m diameter. It is a centre of attractions of Mt. Kelud. There is also a 110 m long tunnel to the dome. The existing facility is a viewing post with 490 steps. From the top of the viewing post, at kali Badak you can find a hot water (about 60° C) sulfur river flowing from the new dome of Mt. Kelud. You can do rock climbing to Mount Sumbing. There are 11 challenging climbing routes with a very unique and interesting stone structure. The mysterious road gives a unique experience as the road is able to mobilize a car from a low point position to a higher point position.
