Surabaya Zoo


This wildlife park was originally named “Soerabaiasche Planten-en Dierentuin” established on August 31, 1916 by the Dutch colonial government. Located on Jl. Setail, the Surabaya Zoo occupies an area of 15 hectares. At present the zoo has the most complete collection in South East Asia. The collections include 400 species of animals consisting of the approximately 3,500 animals coming from within and outside the country. The main attraction for foreign tourists is to watch the Komodo dragon lizard. Komodo is the charm of Indonesian wildlife.
